AUDREY NAPANANGKA MARTIN

AUDREY NAPANANGKA MARTIN born in approximately 1949 is a senior Warlpiri woman from Yuendumu, some 350km north west of Alice Springs.

Audrey has acted as chairperson for Janaganpa Artists in Alice Springs and painted for both Jukurrpa Arts (Alice Springs) and Warlukurlangu Artists (Yuendumu). 

Her country is Mt Theo and the surrounding area 170km off the Tanami Hwy. Audrey’s paintings are beautiful depictions of place, paintings of the lands to which she is custodian and the songs that explain them. 

Her dreamings are bush potato and tomato and the sand goanna.
