Product Details

This highly contemporary, minimalist depiction of white roundels set against the black background represents a combination of the physical landscape of the rocky outcrops of Ungarla, Dr George's traditional country in the Gibson Desert of Western Australia, plus the ochre used for the body designs associated with the Tingari Cycle.

This is an important site where ceremonies take place in the underground caves that form part of this rocky outcrop terrain.

There are levels of interpretation to these Ungarla paintings that are secret/sacred men's business and cannot be revealed.
