Sandhills of Mina Mina, 2003 by Dorothy Napangardi 91x91cm Cat 7761

In this striking work by Dorothy Napangardi, she has used a very different style of depicting Sandhills of Mina Mina. The radiating fan/scallop shapes provide an illusion of depth in an undulating landscape.

From an aerial view one can see that the landscape is not necessarily flat and whilst one may or may not see tracks, the lines that transverse these paintings have another meaning that represent the journeys of ancestors through country.
