Delilah Freddy Puruntatameri was born on August 26, 1968, on Melville Island in the Tiwi Islands. She is the daughter of the late renowned artist Paddy Freddy Puruntatameri and the sister of leading Tiwi carvers Patrick Freddy Puruntatameri and Matthew Freddy Puruntatameri. Delilah has spent most of her life in Milikapiti, living with her family and working alongside them as an integral member of Jilamara Arts and Craft Association.

In 2003, Delilah moved to Garden Point with her mother, Rachelle, to be closer to her traditional country, but she continues to be an active member of Jilamara Arts and Craft Association. Her skin group is Pandanus, and her dance is Owl.

Delilah is a successful artist who has exhibited regularly in Jilamara group exhibitions since 1996. She had her first solo exhibition of works on paper at Alcaston Gallery in Melbourne in 2003. Her artistic contributions and consistent exhibitions have established her as a prominent figure in the Tiwi art community.
