Faith Butler
Biography
Faith Butler is an artist from the Ngaanyatjarra language group with a strong cultural knowledge and upbringing. She was born in the remote region of Kurlkurta to parents Nutangka Benne and Barney Ward. Her family moved to Tjukurla when it was just a small outstation, playing a significant role in passing on cultural knowledge to the younger generation and helping to establish infrastructure and services for the community.
Faith has lived in the Tjukurla Community until her husband's health needs required them to move to Alice Springs. Despite the relocation, she visits Tjukurla whenever possible to spend time with her daughter who lives and works there.

Faith Butler paints designs in the traditional style associated with creation stories that have been passed on to her. Her artworks are deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of her people.
