Jeannie Nakamarra Daniels

Jeannie Nakamarra Daniels, born circa 1956 on Mount Doreen station just west of Yuendumu, is an artist of the Warlpiri language group. Married with two children, Michael and Siddy, and nine grandchildren, Jeannie has spent most of her life in Balgo Hills. She learned to paint from her mother, Sarah Napanangka Daniels, at the vibrant Warlayirti Art Centre.

Jeannie's art beautifully depicts Tjikrti, near Mina Mina in the Tanami Desert, showcasing wildflowers known for their medicinal uses. Influenced by her aunt, Mitjili Napanangka Gibson, Jeannie's work blends traditional narratives and creative expression. A cherished childhood story told by her father, Charlie Jupurrurla Kennedy, also features in her art. Jeannie's unique style was showcased in a solo exhibition in Sydney in 2005, highlighting her ability to merge personal heritage with artistic innovation.
