Pantjiti Unkari McKenzie, OAM

Pantjiti Unkari McKenzie OAM is a senior Pitjantjatjara woman from the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
Born in 1949 at Blackstone out bush, Pantjiti is a well known and respected Ngankari (traditional healer) and one of the most important lore women in the region.
She has worked as a film maker, actor, teacher, oral historian and recorder of cultural heritage. Now concentrating on transmitting a lot of her knowledge into her paintings, they are imbued with her strong cultural knowledge.

in 2019 she was awarded the Order of Australia medal for her service to the indigenous community of the Northern Territory.
