​Sharon K. Hayes Peltharre

Sharon K. Hayes Peltharre hails from Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte), located in the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges of Central Australia. She belongs to the Eastern Arrernte language group, also known as Aranda, whose traditional lands extend from the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges to Mparntwe (Alice Springs). The Eastern Arrernte dialect is one of the most widely spoken in Australia.

Sharon shares her artistic talent with her sister, Claire E. Hayes, who also beautifully paints the wildflowers of their homeland. Another member of this artistic family is Jacinda Hayes, contributing to the rich tradition of painting within their community.

Her colourful paintings not only celebrates the breathtaking natural beauty of the Central Australian landscape but also honours the cultural heritage of the Eastern Arrernte people.
