This is a striking, vibrant, beautiful painting by senior elder and custodian Rosie Nangala Fleming. The subject matter is Water Dreaming, with flowing water at the site of Puyurru symbolised by the turquoise sinuous lines running through the painting. This site is associated with Yankirri, the Emu Ancestor whose tracks we see throughout, walking on the desert sand and eating berries in the surrounding landscape.

Rosie Nangala Fleming (c. 1928–2015) was an Australian Warlpiri painter and sculptor whose work is held in major collections, including the Seattle Art Museum, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Brighton and Hove Museums and Art Galleries
